When do I not?!

Worry. I am my mother's daughter. I worry about everything. Maybe it's because I'm a complete control freak but I worry. My husband is deployed on the USS Enterprise and I found out today that a sailor died today and that NOK was already notified, but the first thing that ran through my head was... "I haven't heard from him in days... oh my god." I know that I was never contacted so it wasn't him, but it hits home you know? What if he knew this sailor? What if it was a friend of his? How is he taking it? I feel so badly that I can't talk to him to make sure he's okay. And of course we had a fight this past weekend so that made me freak out jsut a little more. I jsut want to hear from him so I know he's okay.

In other news: I had my results meeting with Dr. S today even though I didn't meet with him, I met with one of his residents. Either way, i got the results of my HSG test. Everything looks decently normal; I def have PCOS, my tubes and uterus is clear and open, there's some scarring on my uterus but she didn't seem horribly concerned over that so I didn't freak out over it. The other thing she said was my uterus and/or cervix was tipped to the left. When I've always heard of women who have tilted uterus' (uteri???) it's usually that it's tilted backwards. I'm to the left. I mean it explains why my paps have always been "uncomfortable". Either way, she said things look pretty normal; nothing that would interfere with us having a baby.

I did get a prescription for progesterone so that if I am not having a period naturally, I can essentially force myself to have one and get sort of regular. This is will also help because I also got a prescription for chlomid. But I wont' start the chlomid obviously until my hubby returns. So the plan is to use the progesterone until hubby returns, then take the chlomid when I'm supposed to, and then go in for ultrasounds and when I ovulate, do an IUI. This would be our first ever REAL procedure. So far we've only been on pills and trying on our own au naturale. This will be the first assisted attempt. Of course, being the worry wart I am, I have concerns especially with my job and the timing of everything with hubby being here and all. I jsut want everything to go smoothly, even if it isn't a successful cycle, I jsut want things to run smoothly so that I dont' have to quit my job over this or anything. anyways, it's late and I still need to email my husband and hopefully he'll answer soon.

Day 8: a picture that makes you laugh

Now you must understand that this was a trip to my parent's house and it was the first time we had driven the 12 hours home for the holidays with all 3 of our dogs. My mother insisted that the dogs were NOT allowed to be on the couches. Well... you can see how that turned out! (notice my mother is sitting next to my dog on the couch and NOT shoo-ing her off)

Day 7: a Picture of my most treasured item

I may not be an Apple person or an iPod person (I used to have an iPod) but I have switched to a Zune because I can get more space and technology for the same amount. It plays my music and thats all it really has to do. So thats why I love it so much.

day 6: A person I'd love to trade places with

Not just be pregnant, but to have the end result: a happy, healthy, beautiful baby.

Day 5: a picture of my favorite memory

It's not neccessarily this event in my life, but any memory with me and grandfather. He recently passed away so he's what I think about a lot. I miss you Grandpa. I will always love you.

a picture is worth...

..... a thousand smiles! My husband is a Nuke on the USS Enterprise and they had a picnic yesterday on the ship to boost morale and give the guys something fun to do. AND OF COURSE! my hubby had to be on watch and missed the whole damn thing. But because he had watch, he got to eat first. And surprisingly, his picture was taken while in the chow line and it was posted to the ship's FB page, so I saved it so I could send friends and family the picture. So the guy in the middle of the line wearing sunglasses and a fork in his mouth is my husband!

my fault?

So Today was Ash Wednesday. The first day of Lent. I asked my boss if I could get out right at 6pm tonight so I could make it to church on time. That was the plan anyways. All 3 of the triplets were sick and I ran around town picking them all up from school...

*Warning* This is about to get gross and graphic!

... Once I got them all home, the throwing up began. Of course being the Nanny, I'm the one who's always with them when they're sick. I pick them up from school. I clean up after them. I try to console them when all they want is their mother and nothing I ever do is good enough because I'm not Mom. It becomes a very stressful situation very quickly. Not to mention one of the triplets has cerebral palsey and he can't adequately explain to you that his stomach is upset or that he's about to throw up. So short of following him around with a bucket under his chin, I basically have to just wait for him to throw up on something or himself and then clean it up. And also because of his disability he becomes very emotional and goes to the extreme end of whatever emotion he's feeling. So in this case it was outright anger because he jsut wanted his mom there to make him feel better. Then it turned to utter saddness because his mom wasn't there and he "needed" her. I understand that I can never (nor do I want to) replace his mother, but she's busy and I am trying my hardest. So in addition to keeping track of 3 vomitting 7 year olds, I disinfected major areas of the house and pulled their bedsheets off to wash them. I also put them in the bath (separatly) to hopefully make them feel better. On top of all the vile smells and heartfelt sympathies to the kids, I missed a phone call from my husband. That made me feel like vomitting myself. Though I didn't, I was thoroughly depressed because it is so rare that I get to hear from him and I missed it! But none of that compared to when my boss' husband got home and was upset by the fact that his wife (my boss) had previously discussed that they would both ensure that I could go to Ash Wednesday church tonight. Well, when the boys got sick and then my boss got called into her boss' office for a quick meeting, she didn't get home on time. I was not upset that I couldn't go. I mean this is my job. If I am needed at my job, I am there. It's what I get paid to do: to help them make their life run smoother. So I stayed later since my boss had my care anyways (we switch because his wheelchair doesn't fit in my car). But the thing that tops it off is that my boss said "when you have something you need to be at after work, send me a reminder text next time.". Hearing that made me feel like it was my fault because I didn't send her a reminder text. I would have except I felt that doing so would have made her feel like I didn't value my job, or that it wasn't important especially with everything going on. I thought she'd appreciate that I stayed and made a sacrafice for her family. I mean, there will be other Ash Wednesdays in my lifetime. But this is my job. I take that very seriously. And now I feel like I've been blamed for this whole mess of not making it to a church service.

I don't know what to do anymore. I work to keep my mind off of missing my husband. My work causes me lots of stress because of the demands of the family. I don't have a lot of girlfriends to talk to. I feel very alone. I really would have loved to have heard my husbands voice today. I love him so much and he understands me so well. Am I coping with this deployment as well as I should be? I don't know anymore. I feel very lonely, stressed, frustrated and depressed. But I don't know what to do about it. I can't stop thinking about how much longer I have to get through and my heart starts aching. Like right now.

Day 4...

..... a picture of my night

well most of my nights include these 3 things:

well... without the naked part.

!@?*&$#!

I think I might curse, cry and punch something all at the same time!

I have been working on an email with a bunch of links involved for the last 2 hours and I hit the back button in the wrong browser and lost it ALL!

(background info: My sis and I have decided that we're going to live closer because the distance between us right now is just too far and we don't like it. So I've been looking for houses for her and for hubby and I in different cities that would work for everyone involved. The last 2 hours worth of online house shopping with links, and explainations and pictures and everything... gone.)

All I can say is:

FUCK. MY. LIFE.

day 3 - favorite show

Day 3 - a picture of the case of my favorite show....

well this is hard because my favorite show changes all the time! I get into phases and obsessions with different shows. So right now, my flavor is The Tudors. And plus... Jonathan Rys Meyers is too hott for words! The show in general is a little racy; definitly not for the eyes of a teenager. But most enjoyable for a lonely housewife with not much to do who's looking to indulge in a little eye candy with romance and a great plot. I've been watching all the episodes on Netflix through the XBox, but have found that the last 2 seasons are only available on DVD. boo...

What do you do....

.... when you become jealous of your friends' friendship with another person?

You see, I have a fellow navy wife whom has always said that we'd be each other's wife during this deployment since both our hubbies are on the same ship. But in recent months, she has gone out with this other wife a lot more than me. She and this other wife have been out three times this week. I know that I am in no position to tell her who to be friends with or how often she can see them, and i would NEVER do that anyways... but I am feeling like I am being replaced so to speak. I feel left out or forgotten or that I've become uncool to hang out with. Like an outcast. Literally the last time I had a chance to hang out with her was at her house with about 8 other women. I showed up early to help her fix food, and stayed late and cleaned up and did the dishes by hand even! That was a month ago. I have seen her once when at a friends house for dinner, again with 4 other girls.

Am I being crazy? I know i'm feeling jealous and I shouldnt be obsessing over it like this, but I feel like she's been the one true, honest, and great friend I have here. I've only lived in this area for 3 years. I don't really know anyone else. So please, help a girl out. I don't want to say anything because I think it would make things awkward or make the situation worse, but at the same time I don't want to lose my friendship with her. What do I do? I miss her. And I wish we were hanging out like she and this other wife do. I always have a great time hanging out with her, but I feel like we don't see each other a lot anymore. So... am I crazy? should I let this go? Should I say something? ugh... my husband's away and I don't want to lose one of the only friendships I have here. Then I would feel completely alone. any advice?

V-Day blues???

Not really. I've been doing pretty well since deployment has us apart this Valentine's Day. I admit, when I went to work this morning and saw my boss and her husband sitting at the counter reading the paper with a big boquet of red roses in between them, I felt a little sad. But more jealousy which I'm sure I would've felt no matter if hubby was here or not, because unless I flat out tell him I want roses or I buy them for myself, I don't get roses. It's fine though because hubby does spoil me in little ways all year long so today isn't a huge deal to me. I just miss his presence more than usual, which I think is to be expected.

anyways, I got a little choked up even seeing the boys hand their mother a single long stemmed rose, not because I wanted my hubby to be there or to give me roses, but because it was just so sweet and thoughtful! My boss' hubby did a great job on Valentine's Day this year!

So tonight, I was invited to dinner with my boss and her family and I'm going to go. Because I need to get out on this Valentine's Day and because they actually care about me, and isn't that what this holiday is about? Spending time with loved ones and showing them how much you care? So instead of wallowing in self-pity like I really thought I'd be doing, I'm doing really well and even going out tonight with friends. No... scratch that. Family. They really have made me feel like family. So today I'll celebrate Valentine's Day with Family and enjoy spending time with people I care about. :)

Snow day?!

okay, so I live in VA and the cities here don't know how to handle snow nor have the budget to get themselves the equipment to handle snow. So with 2 inches on the ground, most of the schools in the area were closed. Usually I work all day when school is out, but today, God shined his grace down on me! *aaaahhhhhhhhhhh* The grandmother took the kids for the day and I GOT THE DAY OFF!!!!!! Totally exciting! I got to sleep in, stay in my pj's all day and do nothing but watch movies on the Starz channels. It was glorious!

The unglorious part about my day was discovering hubby has spent MORE in this port call than the last one! he spent $250 in the last one, and now $290 in this one! When will he learn! I told him in an email that if he kept this up, I might have to start selling some things to compensate. And I might just start with his mustang convertible that he loves so much. I'm hoping that'll get through to him. The car is paid off, so I could totally sell it since I have a complete power of attorny. :)

On the baby front: I had an appointment with a "specialist" yesterday. I put quotations around that because going into the appointment I did not believe he would be worth much good because he's a Navy doctor and I'm not really sure they can qualify him as a "specialist" based on my past experiences with Navy doctors who call themselves "specialist". But this guy was for real. Dr. S is what I'll call him. I was asked a BUNCH of questions and since hubby is deployed I couldn't accurately give his family medical history (i called my MIL to ask and I'll tell DR. S next time I see him). But after the questions, he did a full physical exam of my and my insides. Then after I got dressed, we talked about what he'd like to do next: more tests. Who'd have thunk it?! lol So he put my on Provera to induce bleeding. Once I start bleeding I call this one woman who'll order blood and urine tests as well as an HSG test. The urine test has to be done 24 prior to the HSG test. But I can't have the HSG test until I'm done bleeding, so it's all a matter of waiting and timing. I call once I start, pray I stop before I have my urine and blood tests and then go to the hospital radiology the next day for my HSG test. As many of my fellow IFer's will sympathize with me about the HSG test, let me fill the rest of you in. First off, I'm not sure how to pronounce, let alone spell, the full name of this test. But the accronym is HSG. What happens is they stick a cathedar up my coochy and inject dye into me. Thent hey take Xrays of my pelvic region to see if my tubes have any blockages, or my uterus is oddly shaped, or if there's army men up there that are protecting my eggs like Fort Knox (and succeeding) or something. Now here's the complications. First off, the tests are only scheduled on Thursdays. Thursdays are bad for me because I take O to therapy and then take him to school. I usually take the mom's car for this which doesn't have DoD stickers. So even if I were to schedule the test for after I'm down taking O to school, I can't get through the gates to get to the hospital for the test to be done. Secondly, on the sheet of paper they give you explaining everything, they RECCOMEND taking 800mg of Motrin one hour before the procedure. They even describe is as "uncomfortable". You know what that translates to me? It's fucking painful! ugh! And I asked Dr S if it would affect the rest of my day and he said no. I'll just have some "mild" cramps and need to wear a pad afterwards for "unusual discharge". yeah... okay! I have to go through this "uncomfortable" test by myself on a day that is impossible for me to schedule it to begin with and then go around the rest of the day with "mild" cramps?! yeah... I highly doubt it will go smoothly.

I also found out that Dr S cannot legally discuss hubby's seman analysis with me unless he give me written consent. And of course it has to be their own specialize form. So now I have to express mail this one piece of paper out there to him, have him sign it, and then trust he'll send it immediately back? again.... yeah, okay! Dr S you're nuts if you think my hubby will remember to do such a thing! It'll be quicker to just wait for him to come back and sign the damn paper in person!

So after some bumps in the road and some nervous about what's to come, I got a nice snow day today to relax and not even give it one thought. It was good to not worry today and just do something mindless today like watch TV. Tomorrow it's back to the grind and then the weekend to get things accomplished.

He did WHAT?!?!

Warning: Bitching Alert to Follow!

Hubby spend $250 in the last 3 days at their first port stop! I'm fuming right now! Before he left it was all, "I promise not to go crazy when in port" and "in case we need to trasnfer after I get back I want to have some cash saved up to help with moving if we need to" and "I want to pay some stuff off since I'll be getting tax free pay". WHAT THE HELL?!

You know I understand going out for dinner and drinks or going on a tour or something, but I thought he might TELL me in an email that he was going out or something, that way I knew something would be coming out of the account. But no! I got nothing! I actually haven't gotten anything in terms of ANY emails in the last 3 days! You know, I make money too, and I was the one who got paid to today, so all the money he just spent, was the REST of MY bonus and then some from MY paycheck! Maybe I wanted to go out and get myself a little something. Maybe I wanted to get a new pair of jeans or a Nook Color or something. But no! I thought to myself... no, don't do it, you don't need it. There are plenty of books at the house you should read before you go getting and eReader. Or that I do have enough jeans in the house and I just can make sure I do laundry every week so I know I have enough to clothe myself for work. I understand he's in port and all... I get that. But you know... enough is enough! And is this just a preview of what all the port calls are going to look like?! If so... I want him chained to his rack for every port call! We can't afford for spending like this! I don't understand why he doesn't get it?! UGH!!!!!!!

Catch Up

I'm so sorry I've been away for so long! A lot has happened. After hubby deployed, I started putting a package together immediatly! I also had to include a new camera since his old one really just sucked. But I sent it 10 days ago and he has yet to receive it! I'm pretty bummed about that and so is he since they've hit a port in Europe and all the guys were going out one night or another. I'm currently putting together another package for him. This time a Valentine's Day themed one. I'm also going to include some special goodies for all the guys in the plant with him. Anyways... other exciting/ drama-filled news:
*a friend of mine had her baby boy today and he's completely healthy! yeah!!!
*I backed my boss' car into another car with her children in the car on accident
* one of the boys I nanny had a birthday
*I got a phone call from my love!
*two of the other boys I nanny were in a bus acciddent (they're completely fine, thank goodness!)

I do get emails. Average is like once every other day. Sometimes once a day. But he's only been gone for two weeks so thats not a real good premise for an average!

I do have other exciting news! I may get to go to Europe sometime this summer!!!! My parents are going on a trip and thought it might be a nice birthday present for me to go! My father said the "birthday fairy" and "Santa Claus" may team up and even pay for the plane tickets and hotel! how awesome are the "birthday fairy" and "Santa Claus" for offering this wonderful present?! I'm so excited! I really hope that this really does become my present! I would absoultely LOVE it!!! So I went and applied for a passport, got my pictures taken and everything, picked up a Europe book to look through from AAA, and even have done some research for plane tickets and reviews for hotels in different areas! I am so excited! I'm afraid that if something of this present and plan fall through I will be completely devastated! But i think the "birthday fairy" and "Santa Claus" will come through for me! yeah!!!!!! :D

Via Email?!?!

okay...background info: there's a long-standing joke between hubby and I that he's working on inventing and building a teleportation device/ time machine.

current situation: so I got an email from hubby talking about how he wasn't feeling well with a cold... you know; runny nose, sore throat kinda stuff. Within hours of reading that today, my nose started to feel runny and then stuffy and now I have a sore throat. So now I have emailed him claiming that he has given me a cold via email! None of the boys I work with are sick right now. Hubby (who'se deployed) is the only one! It is the weirdest and funniest thing to me!

Anyways... I'm going to bed now heavily medicated so I can make it through my Friday tomorrow. I'm glad it's Friday tomorrow, but now it's going to be a lot longer since I've started feeling this cold. Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow because I've got plans and I don't want to postpone them. sorry this is a short one, blog world.

Day 4

ALLLLRRRRIIIIGGGHHHTTTYYY THEN! 4 days down! only a couple more to go! <--- complete sarcasm there. Anyways. This weekend has been decently productive. I went out and ran errands, bought some last minute things I need to send to hubby for this deployment, cleaned my downstairs, done about 6 loads of laundry, organized my downstairs and master bedroom. I also went grocery shopping and actually cooked meals instead of eating random junk from my pantry all weekend. I was lazy this last week with hubby leaving. I didn't go to the gym. The last time I was in the gym was last monday. 7 days ago. Uh-oh. I have my last free personal training session tomorrow. He's gonna kill me with that work out. I'll be honest with him and tell him that it was a really rough week and I didn't get to the gym and maybe, just maybe, he'll take it a little easy on me. I hope. I guess I have my fingers crossed.

In other news.... hubby has emailed twice. I'm pretty excited about that. He's told me that when they do pull into ports at various times, "they" (i'm not really sure who he means by "they") plan to have soccer games which he's completely ecstatic about! He and I previously argued about the fact that he wanted to bring his cleets with him on this deployment. I told him he wasn't going to need them! When they pulled into port I didn't think they'd be playing much soccer, but be sightseeing or going out to eat or something. But not playing soccer. Welp... he is very happy to make me say, via email, that "he was right and I was wrong". Who woulda guessed? Not I for sure. But I'm glad he's excited about it. Hopefully he doesn't have to work too much whenever they pull into a port so he can go play. He really loves soccer.

Anyways, I'm pretty proud so far of all I've accomplished. My week this week is actually pretty packed. I'm looking forward to some things this week and then getting to another weekend to knockout more cleaning and organizing. I'm the kind of persona that can keep things organized if I'm not completely crazy busy. But when I am crazy busy and the organizing gets put on the back burner like it has been these last couple of months, it's the hardest thing to get back into doing. But I'm doing okay with it. Then after that.... I plan on moving some furniture around and up and down stairs and such. My good friend M. came over this past weekend and helped me fix a beam on the outside of my front door that was blown off by the wind. It was very nice of him to help and I paid him in food. He just started school and moved into a new place and with some friends of his. I figured... new place.... probably not a whole lot of food in the house. So I sent him off with 4 grocery bags full of hamburger helpers, mac and cheese, snacks, and such. He's a good guy and said I could call on him if I ever need anything done that requires the help of a man like lifting or drilling or replacing stuff. You know... maintenance kind of stuff. He's a real good guy. I lucky to have him as a friend. Anyways, I have to get up in the morning for work. This 3 day weekend was wonderful, but it's back to the grind tomorrow. Goodnight internet world.
